Dolly Parton was born on the 19th January, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. She was raised with 12 other children. The vivid imagination of her mother helped her escape from life's harsh reality. life. The songs she wrote were composed before she knew how to write or read. The first guitar she received was gifted to her when she turned eight. She started singing at a Knoxville Tenn station by the age of 11. The same year she released her first record on Gold Band Records a tiny independent label. Her name was made in the local scene while in high school but she dreamed of a bigger stage. When she graduated from the high school in 1964, she immediately moved to Nashville. Dumb Blonde was her first single to reach the top of the charts at the top of Monument Records. Porter Wagoner's syndicated tv show required the services of a new singer by the time. Parton got her first gig in the year 1967 she signed with RCA Records by 1968, and became a member of the Grand Ole Opry. However she left Wagoner's show in 1974 as her solo releases such as Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene had begun charting their collaborative efforts. Parton recorded I Will Always love You for Wagoner following their split. It reached number one. 1 for the first time in 1974.
